Each hollow-cast vessel is white porcelain—cast in very small editions, finished and glazed by hand, so each has its own character and subtle charms. The Familiar Mysteries were originally designed for George’s Lovely Variety subscribers as a part of a ritual for “absorbing the morbs,” but like us, they are masters of compartmentalization, so they also function as lovely bud vases or holiday ornaments. Familiar Mysteries are informed by the cosmology of an ongoing project (www.jumpstarlove), and represent the star Iota Cephei. ⭐️ Not much is written about Iota Cephei, despite it being a celestial sibling in a small family of earth’s future North Stars. This particular Pole Star remains enigmatic—in the same way that our closest people can remain inscrutable to us on some level, and we remain rather mysterious even to ourselves—so, within jump!star, the familiar mystery of Iota is represented by a human face or a coterie of faces.

As is the case with all mysteries, the dimensions vary, but these range in diameter between 1.5 and 2” and in height between 1.75 and 2.25.” Yours will arrive charmingly gift-wrapped and carefully packaged.
